Unlove is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you with respect to how we manage your Personal Information.
We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The NPPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information.

Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. Examples of Personal Information Unlove collects include: names, email addresses, date of birth, phone numbers, organisation information such as which school or university you are affiliated with, Compliance Documents, and level within organisations (such as year group).
This Personal Information is obtained in multiple ways, mainly when signing up or filling out your profile on our mobile app, via email, from other publicly available sources, and from cookies. Images and PDFs uploaded in Unlove's workspaces are stored on Unlove, along with any Personal Information they may contain. In the case of an Unlove account linked to an organisation, such as a school licensed account, this information may be sourced from the associated organisation's database with their consent. By using and accessing Unlove's services with a licensed organisation account, you consent to us obtaining personal information in this manner. We don't guarantee website links or policy of authorised third parties.
We collect your Personal Information for the primary purpose of providing our services to you, providing appropriate content filters, marketing, and in the case licensed organisation accounts, providing statistics and progress reports to the affiliated organisation. We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. You may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists at any time by contacting us in writing, or responding to any email with the subject line "STOP".
When we collect Personal Information we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.
Any unsolicited Personal Information (information provided to Unlove which Unlove has not requested) will be de-identified and destroyed as soon as practicable if it is lawful and reasonable to do so. Additional Personal Information which is not required for the provision of Unlove's services will be treated as unsolicited Personal Information. Where unsolicited Personal Information is not de-indentified and destroyed, if reasonable, Unlove will notify you about it's collection as soon as practicable.
Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information. Unlove strives to minimize collection of any sensitive information. When required, Sensitive Information will be collected by lawful and fair means as described in the OAIC Privacy Principle Guidelines.

Where reasonable and practicable to do so, we will collect your Personal Information only from you. However, in some circumstances, we may be provided with information by third parties. Examples of this include verification of identity and background checks for private tutors that are affiliated with organisations. In such a case we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of this process and the information provided to us by the third party.

Your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.
When your Personal Information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your Personal Information. However, most of the Personal Information is or will be stored in client files which will be kept by us for a minimum of 7 years.

Unlove will not charge any fee for your access request, but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information.
In order to protect your Personal Information we may require identification from you before releasing the requested information.
It is important to us that your Personal Information is up to date. We will take reasonable steps to make sure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. If you find that the information we have is not up to date or is inaccurate, please advise us as soon as practicable so we can update our records and ensure we can continue to provide quality services to you.
Unlove offers global services with minimal personal information required for its use. This includes basic details like your name, which may pass through servers in various locations due to latency considerations. Unlove currently operates servers in Australia. If you and all other participants are in the same country while using Unlove, it's unlikely that your information will be shared or used globally. However, if you are using Unlove with individuals from different countries, only the essential information needed for the service will be relayed through overseas servers.
Unlove relies on established cloud service providers in the United States to operate its services. In order to maintain its services, Unlove may disclose Personal Information to these providers. Personal Information is only shared with these cloud service providers purpose of supporting Unlove's services, and is stored securely and privately. Additional information about Unlove's use of cloud service providers and disclosure of Personal Information to facilitate it's services can be provided on request.
This Policy may change from time to time and will remain available on our website. Please ensure you review this policy at least annually as you continue to use Unlove's services.
This Policy was last revised on 4 June 2024, and at minimum is reviewed annually.
If you have a complaint about a breach of this Privacy Policy, you may follow the complaints process outlined below:
As a first step, you may contact us in writing, detailing your complaint, and the suspected breach of this Privacy Policy. We will take all reasonable steps in our power to investigate the matter, respond to you within 30 days, and aim to resolve the matter in collaboration with you.
